Special Salute to Service on July 4th

Salute To Service/July 4th Special

This episode is of course dedicated to all of our Survivor/Thrivers who served in the military; but especially to our Vietnam vets who:

  1. Got shipped off to the other side of the planet to endure unspeakable hardship
  2.  Had to fight an invisible enemy in a war that was unpopular at best, if not downright unnecessary, not winnable, and unsupported by their own countryman
  3.  Came home after all the horror not to parades but protests, shouts of hatred instead of love, spittle instead of kisses, and ingratitude instead of appreciation.
  4.  Last but not least, became ticking cancer time bombs because of exposure to a pesticide their own government proclaimed to be safe

Please join Angel and Dr E as they give these special Survivors their due appreciation and support.

Transparency Clarity & Detail Part 2

Transparency, Clarity, and Detail
Part 2
Practice Proclamation

Last week we discussed the importance of taking the time to explaining (in  painstaking detail) the logistics of what patients are to expect during their cancer treatments.

This week Angel and Dr E continue this crucial module by imploring practitioners to formally and tangibly develop and share their particular practice philosophies and goals of care  and create a personal “Practice Proclamation”

So Close Yet So Far

So Close Yet So Far
When was the last time you went to a doctor’s office and felt like you actually knew what was going to happen?
So many times our Oncology Team has nothing but the best intentions to go over risks and benefits, alternatives of care and side effects that they forget the easy stuff;
1. like who will be the people that will be taking care of them
2. Where is the room that the treatments are given
3. What do the machines or medicines look like
4. What will a treatment day look like
This week Dr E tells the story of a patient who changed the way he practices; and of course Angel will be adding his perspective as well. Please join us!
