Mission Statement:

Citizens Reunited to Overcome Cancer (CROC) is a grass roots cancer survivorship organization established in 1999 whose sole purpose is to support survivors and their families who strive to “turn tragedy into triumph” with love, compassion, empathy and warmth in a nonjudgmental, safe and non-discriminatory environment

Vision Statement:

Make cancer preventable when able, supportable when necessary, and curable always

Value Statement:

Never ask anything from a survivor, never refuse anything for a survivor

Goals statement:

By concentrating on helping one survivor at a time, we hope to create a friendship; we hope to create a community; we hope to create a nation of survivors who are empowered with information and wisdom to win their battle

Culture statement:

CROC is a universally loving cancer support platform. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, creed, sexual orientation or in any other way not stated. We do not support any specific social, political, national, or global agenda which in any way would potentially marginalize even one survivor.

We do not accept fees or dues or advertising except by way of unsolicited donations.

Burnout In Radiation Therapy: Examining The Six Leading Influences

Abstract

Recent studies are highlighting the dangers of burnout amongst healthcare workers, including radiation therapists. Since burnout is associated with an increase in medical errors (Sanchez-Reilly, 2013), it affects both the well-being of the patient and patient satisfaction scores, which are important to a hospital’s reputation. Burnout has a positive correlation with job dissatisfaction and increased employee turnover, making it both a financial and quality issue. Organizations acknowledge that burnout leads to unhappy employees, and unhappy employees are less likely to be engaged in their work, thereby not producing the best “products” (Sehlen, 2009). By examining which components seem to be the most influential on pronounced expressions of burnout, leadership can focus on reducing the major influences effect on their employees…
