One of the “gifts” almost every survivor has told us about their cancer journey, is the sense of “immediacy”.
They are open to self-scrutiny and painful change while the rest of us remain oblivious to our mortally and the fragility of life.
We keep our heads in the sand and keep pushing Sisyphus’s rock up the hill day in and day out, while they make conscious, critical, rational and worthwhile choices on what they want the rest of their lives to look like.
